Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mzansi Salons website and services (the “Platform”), operated by Mzansi Salons (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. What Mzansi Salons is

Mzansi Salons is an online directory that helps customers discover independent salons and stylists by location and service type, and lets salon owners (“hosts”) list their services and prices. We simply connect customers and salons. We are not a salon, we do not provide beauty or hair services, and we are not a party to any arrangement, booking, or transaction between a customer and a salon.

A “booking request” sent through the Platform is a request only — it is not a confirmed appointment until the salon contacts the customer and confirms it directly. We do not process payments, and any payment for services is arranged strictly between the customer and the salon.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
• You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.
• Please tell us promptly at info@mzansisalons.co.za if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

3. Hosts (salon owners)

If you list a salon, you agree that:

• Your listing details, services, and prices are accurate and kept up to date.
• You own or have the right to use every photo and all content you upload, and it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
• You will honour the services and prices you advertise, and respond to booking requests in good faith.
• You hold any licences, registrations, and insurance required to operate your salon lawfully, and you comply with all applicable laws and health-and-safety requirements.
• You are solely responsible for the services you provide to customers.

Every listing is reviewed before it goes live. We may approve, decline, unpublish, or remove any listing at our discretion — for example, if it is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, or does not meet our standards.

4. Customers

• You agree to provide accurate details when you submit a booking request.
• You understand that your request is sent to the salon, which will contact you to confirm.
• Your appointment, the service, and any payment are arranged directly with the salon.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you submit (such as listings, photos, and descriptions). By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to share it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, unlawful, offensive, or infringing content.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your salon or identity.
• Attempt to interfere with, damage, or gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other users’ accounts.
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.

7. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we review listings, we do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, safety, legality, or availability of any salon, host, or service listed, and we do not endorse any salon. Salons are independent third parties. Any dealing between a customer and a salon is solely between them, and any dispute should be resolved between those parties.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mzansi Salons is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense — whether direct or indirect — arising from your use of the Platform, from any salon or service found through the Platform, or from any dealings between customers and salons. Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Mzansi Salons harmless from any claims, losses, or costs arising out of your use of the Platform, your content, or your breach of these Terms or of any applicable law.

10. Third-party services

The Platform relies on third-party services (such as maps and hosting). Your use of features powered by those services may also be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms or change or discontinue the Platform at any time. When we update these Terms, we will change the “Last updated” date above. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms. You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and you agree to the jurisdiction of the South African courts, subject to any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
